I realized today that I have not yet posted about one of my favorite Christmas gifts from this year! Err, last year...(yes, I know it is February. Hush.) Isn't it beautiful? I wish you could reach through the screen and touch it. It is the softest yarn I have ever felt. Alana knit this scarf for me out of the same organic cotton yarn that she used for Willa's baby blanket. And y'all thought she could only crochet! Now, as you will recall, I myself have zero talent with the Yarn Arts so I was completely amazed at the simple beauty of this project. And more so, the perfection of the craftsmanship! Alana definitely has a gift, holy cow. She must have inherited it from our grandmother...not our real grandmother, mind you, but our fictional version who knits and crochets, cooks and bakes, and is proud of our pinning when we sew. (Our real grandmother translates french texts, catalogs specimens for the Field Museum, and is proud of our grammar when speak correctly. She's a different kind of special.) In any case, Alana is amazing with hooks & needles.
For you knitters & crocheters out there, the yarn is Blue Sky Alpaca's organic cotton in #80 bone and the scarf pattern came from One Skein: 30 Quick Projects to Knit & Crochet. I will not be buying that book but y'all knock yourselves out. I plan to just send yarn to Alana...
