Dirty Dancing Havana Nights! Here we are at La Rosa Negra, can you hear the music? Can you smell the sweet scent of flowers hanging in the air? Do you see the beautiful couples moving in perfect unison with each other? Can you feel the warm, tropical breezes flowing in through the open windows?
No? Hmmm, that's strange. Neither can I. All I hear is whining, all I smell is wet dog, all I see are mountains of laundry and the only breeze in this house is stale, forced heat blowing out of dusty vents... Ahhh, but when I put this apron on I just have to mambo! Shucka shucka! My dancing prompts eye rolls from my boys that are so impressive I think for a second I have teenage girls! No, I can't just walk, cha cha cha! Nadie pone a bebe en una esquina! I swear it's the ruffles. And maybe the bow, too. I am such a sucker for ruffles and bows. I know this floral pattern is more like a red and black mum than La Rosa Negra (a black rose) but Un Crysanthemum Rojo y Negro? It just doesn't roll off the tongue the same way. Let's call it artistic license.
A big thank you to Amy Karol for the super fun Tie One On theme this month-ish (if you haven't figured it out yet, put down the malt liquor, the theme is Havana Nights.) Amy Karol is awesome and has, among many other things, Tie One On, a blog "about all things aprony". Every two months she picks a new theme for people to use as inspiration to make new aprons. Last time it was polka dots and holy cow were there some cute aprons! Anyway, I finally got it together to make an apron in time and it is just what the

it's beautiful! i think you should just wear it as part of your outfit!

She's not kidding about the sandwich bags. We used to have to wear them over our socks inside our snow boots. Why? Did other people's parents make them do this?

You had bags for your feet??!! You lucky bastards! Oh, what I would have given for a pair of plastic bags...bloody elitists, the pair of you two are.

You are so frigging talented!! And funny!! I think you should wear that apron to a concert with me some day.
Oh yeah, I remember those bags. We had those in Massachusetts too!

Wow, from wearing plastic bags on your feet to a "Yeah Baby" apron what a multifaceted woman! That is one sexy apron! Just looking at it makes yearn for my youth. I'm with Liz you should wear it as often as possible as part of your outfit. I'm sure the DH will be tied to your apron strings!

Geez, thank you for the compliments! And of course you can wear it to open a box. Or a bag. Or even a can of dog food. That's what I do!
